Terms of Service

These Terms are the rules for using ReceiptBasket. By using our website or app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use ReceiptBasket

You must be old enough to agree to a contract in your area. You must give true account details and keep your login private. You are responsible for activity on your account.

2. What we provide

ReceiptBasket helps you upload, store, organize, and share receipts with proof links. We try to keep the service fast and reliable, but we cannot promise zero downtime or perfect auto-fill results.

3. Your receipts and files

• You keep ownership of your content.
• You give us permission to host, process, and display your content only to run the service.
• You must have the right to upload anything you add.

4. Proof links

• Proof links are share links you control.
• You choose who gets the link. If someone has the link (and PIN, if used), they may see the receipt data allowed by your settings.
• You can revoke links. Expired or revoked links are no longer valid.
• We cannot guarantee a store, insurer, or any third party will accept a link as proof.

5. Plans, billing, and renewals

• Paid plans renew automatically until canceled.
• You can manage your plan in billing.
• Prices may change in the future, but changes do not apply to completed billing periods.
• Payments are handled by Stripe.
• Except where law requires otherwise, fees already paid are not refundable.

6. What you may not do

You may not misuse the service. This includes:

• breaking the law or violating someone else's rights
• trying to access accounts or data that are not yours
• uploading harmful files or abusive content
• attempting to damage, overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the service
• sharing personal data through proof links without permission

7. Suspension or account closure

We may limit, suspend, or close accounts that break these Terms, create risk, or threaten service safety. You can stop using ReceiptBasket at any time.

8. Important legal limits

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum amount allowed by law, we are not responsible for indirect loss, lost profits, or lost business opportunities.

To the maximum amount allowed by law, our total liability for claims related to the service is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $100.

9. You agree to protect us if your actions cause harm

If your use of ReceiptBasket breaks these Terms or the law and causes a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses to the extent allowed by law.

10. Privacy

Your use is also covered by our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If changes are important, we will post an update on the site. If you keep using ReceiptBasket after changes, you accept the new Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless local law says otherwise.
